Back to School: Important Dates

Upcoming events:

Thursday, August 22 – Orientation 9-11am – 7th graders and 8th graders new to Cooper

Rising 7th graders will be bussed from their Elementary Schools to Cooper Middle School for 7th grade orientation. The bus schedule for pick up and drop off from elementary schools was mailed home and can be found on the Cooper Middle School website. Students will be given the opportunity to follow their schedule and meet their teachers. Detailed information will be in a packet mailed home to families in early August.

Thursday, August 22 – Locker Night from 4-6pm in the cafeteria

All students who have not turned in their forms should bring their forms (mailed to all families in early August) to Cooper.  You will receive your schedule and locker combination.  This is your opportunity to set up your locker.

ALSO: We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to join the PTO: we’ll be there with the forms.

Dues: only $25 per family, plus a suggested $125 dollar donation for each child. We use these funds toward school resources, program and teacher enrichment, and parent education programming.

AND: You can also buy Cooper Spiritwear!

Please bring cash or check. Our t-shirts (both men’s and women’s styles) are $20, the baseball jerseys are $25, and the 1/4-zip pullovers are $35.

(Baseball jerseys and women’s style t-shirts shown below.)

Monday, August 26-First Day of School

School hours are 7:30am-2:15pm: students are expected to be seated in their classroom at 7:30am.

In preparation for the big renovation, the back parking lot is filled with classroom mods, which drastically limits the Kiss & Ride area.

PLEASE urge your children to ride the bus to school in order to alleviate what could be morning-ruining traffic.

Tuesday, August 27- PTO General Membership Meeting and Q and A with Principal Randall @ 9:30am in Room 130.

Learn about upcoming events at Cooper, have all your questions answered, and meet your Parent Teacher Organization.

After the Meeting: Our Parent’s Panel will stick around after Principal Randall’s Q and A. The Parent’s Panel can answer lingering questions about how to help your family navigate the transition to middle school.
