Save the Date! PTO Meeting and Vaping Program, March 13 at 9:30am, Room 130
Vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the aerosol, often referred to as vapor, which is produced by an e-cigarette or similar device. The term is used because e-cigarettes do not produce tobacco smoke, but rather an aerosol, often mistaken for water vapor, that actually consists of fine particles. Many of these particles contain varying amounts of toxic chemicals, which have been linked to cancer, as well as respiratory and heart disease. Unfortunately, the number of incidents involving students who are vaping has dramatically increased in Fairfax and nationwide.
Cooper MS and the FCPS Student Safety and Wellness Office are hosting a Vaping Parent Education Seminar on March 13 at 9:30AM. Come and learn about what vaping is, what the devices students use to vape look like, effects on the body, how to speak with your children about it and how to keep them safe.
Please note: Our previously scheduled PTO meeting on March 6th has been cancelled.
